Habitat

This groundhopper is polytopic, but usually prefers wetlands and is often found near waters on bare mud or short vegetation up to 1300 m asl., less can be found higher. It is common also in the light forests and forest edges with higher humidity. It flies and swims well and it has the ability to colonise new habitats successfully.

Abundance

Probably our most frequent and abundant groundhopper species with regular distribution in Slovakia, sometimes occurring in abundant populations.
