Similar as P. gracilis it is a thermophilic species, inhabiting xeric forest steppes and habitats characterized by dense vegetation, such as semi-dry grassland, forest edges and clearings in forest interior. Woody elements of the vegetation, such as shrubs are important in habitats. (N limit of its range is Slovakia)
Abundance
Less frequent, but in its sites abundant thermophilous bush-cricket species in Slovakia, with fragmented distribution only in the Pannonian area, more frequent and abundant than similar P. gracilis.
