Habitat
Polytopic species. The most important habitats are meadows, particularly nutrient-poor grassland and wet meadows in wide altitudinal gradient (< 2300 m asl.). It is frequent also in ruderal and grassy vegetation and along the roads in fields, together with bush-cricket R. roeselii.
Abundance
The most frequent and most abundant grasshopper species, with regular distribution in Slovakia, in „plague years“ locally with huge quantities.
