Habitat
Wet meadows and sedge beds with tall grassy and herbal vegetation are preferred in the warmer lowlands, it lives elsewhere mainly in well preserved grasslands with some amount of wetland vegetation (breeding sites up to 700 m asl). This well flying species can tolerate intensive management with rather frequent mowing with preserving the islands of wetlands.
Abundance
Relative frequent and abundant species, but with fragmented distribution in wet areas, mainly in E Slovakia (N limit of its area).
