Habitat
his grasshopper inhabits quite a large range of different habitats, but seems to prefer the lowland sandy areas of SE and SW Slovakia (up to 200 m asl.). It is crucial for its occurence that wet and dry microhabitats, often influenced by haline conditions, are closely together.
Abundance
One of the rarest Chorthippus species, with fragmented distribution, but with rather high abundance in the best sites.
