This xerothermic and geophilic species is inhabiting mainly warm, dry, south facing rocks with steppe-like vegetation, mostly up to 800 m asl., less is reaching the southern slopes of higher mountains. Within the Pannonian region its habitats are more diverse (also extensive managed fields and fallow land), but a certain amount of open soil and rather short vegetation.

Frequent and abundant grasshopper species with regular distribution in Pannonian Slovakia, sometimes occurring in very abundant populations.
